Puttin on the Ritz Community Event

Gainesville Restaurant Group has been involved in the community for over 15 years. Don Regan started in the restaurant business in the late 1980s and always worked closely with his employees, treating everyone like family. Over the years, Don, his staff and family brought many local restaurants and bars to the Gainesville community. The lure of franchising a restaurant elsewhere may have existed, but Don never wanted to leave Gainesville. He always wanted the experience of warmth and caring to extend beyond the restaurant walls and into the Gainesville community--- so we are involved in local events all year round, from local high school sports teams/games to nonprofit organization fundraisers. Not only do our restaurants provide food and raffle prizes for events, but we also volunteer our time.

Investing in our communities is one of the best investments we can make and one we know has an impact that will last for generations. This tradition and these local values were inspired by our founder, father and friend-- Don Regan -- whose vision drives all we do, within and beyond our restaurants. We continue in his tradition, as Big Don passed away in August 2007. Don will always be remembered in our hearts and minds for the loving, caring man he was and the leadership he provided to so many of us over the years.

We will feature a local nonprofit in this section every few months to help spread the word about the good they do in our community.

Haven Hospice

For those of you who didn't already know, our founder, Don Regan, passed away from melanoma cancer on August 20, 2007. He was fortunate enough, however, to spend his final days/weeks with Haven Hospice, friends and family. We would like to personally and formally thank Haven Hospice of Gainesville for taking such great care of our father through that extremely difficult time. The level of comfort and generous support he received from their staff was unparalleled in our experience. The nurses were so caring and explained a lot of things that were so incomprehensible at the time. They provided our father and the rest of our family with the kind of peaceful nurturing and gentle reassurance that we needed in dealing with the frightening experience of terminal illness. For that, we wholeheartedly thank them and are indebted to their services. In consideration of our heartfelt appreciation of what Haven Hospice does for people like our family, we have established a permanent promotion of 10% off for their employees here at our restaurants.

Sincerely yours,
Christine and Donald Regan
